One of the most common reasons I leave GitHub Copilot is to try a new model the moment it's announced.
The Copilot team usually quickly adds new models, but while I'm waiting, I use the provider's harness instead.
That's why I'm using Codex today - GPT-5.3-codex just came out and it isn't in Copilot yet.
