I bought my M1 Max Macbook Pro in October 2021.
After over 3.5 years of HEAVY use, the battery finally reports "Service recommended". Max capacity is 79% after 607 cycles.
Other than battery life, the machine still feels new.
Fantastic laptop.
Replacing the battery runs $249.
That's steep, so last year I bought an Anchor battery for $85 which works great. This charges the M1 about 75% so typically more than sufficient.
