My favorite things about Europe vs the USA:
1. Better transportation infrastructure - Trains, trams, buses, rental scooters, bikes, wide sidewalks, and separated bike lanes are far more common. Public transportation is heavily used so it feels safer too.
2. Better food - European food seems fresher and healthier. More seafood, more variety, fewer heavily processed items, and it generally tastes better. Baked goods are WAY better here. I love slicing bread from a real loaf at breakfast. The jelly is real, not crappy Smuckers corn syrup. The butter is real, not margarine. At my hotel the honey is literally off the comb!
3. No tipping culture. In the USA service workers like servers and cashiers are often “fake” sweet. “Ooo, excellent choice sir”. In Europe people feel more genuine because they’re not trying to sweet talk me out of a tip - they’re just doing their job.
