Work gets better when you don’t need the money
Work gets better when you don’t need the money.
And “don’t need the money” doesn’t mean you never need money again.
It just means you don’t *immediately* need it, so you can afford to:
- switch to a new role that might not work out
- take extended time off to recharge or learn new skills
- try new career paths or specialties
- negotiate for better pay, flexible schedule, work from home, or more time off
- turn down mediocre opportunities
- tell your boss no when it’s an unreasonable request
