It blows my mind that companies expect developers to work on slow virtual machines, slow remote sessions, or slow, old hardware.

When I have to work in these environments, my productivity, focus, and happiness nosedive.

Waiting for a slow machine is maddening.
For most my clients, I work directly on my M1 MacBook Pro with Google Fiber.

Everything is instant. I can work as fast as I can think. It's wonderful.

Once I got used to this, experiencing any delay feels obviously broken and throws me off.
