Confession: I’ve been writing software for over 20 years, but I often learn things I feel like I should have stumbled across years ago.

🚫 I spent 5 years working with no source control (in the late 90’s, source control wasn’t as popular).

🚫 I spent 10 years thinking automated tests were a waste of time.

🚫 I spent 10 years before I worked with types. I started with Flash, Cold Fusion, PHP, and ASP. After 10 years, I finally enjoyed types in C#, Java, and TypeScript.

🚫 I ignored accessibility until 5 years ago.

I’m not proud of these things. It’s just how my career panned out.

The path to mastery is a winding road, and it never ends.
