Typically I've been happy. But sometimes, I've been miserable. On one team, I thought “I hate coding”.
Turns out, I didn’t hate coding. I just hated coding on that team.
🚫 We constantly had unrealistic deadlines
🚫 We weren’t empowered or trusted
🚫 Tech debt was out of control
🚫 My team wasn’t respected
🚫 My boss was a liar
I found a new role and realized: Hey, software development with these folks is fun again! 😀
So, if you’re unhappy, look around. Greener pastures are out there.
