Concern: “Asking for feedback makes me look weak or incompetent.”

Reality: Asking for feedback makes you look more confident, more capable, and more valuable.

Why? Because asking for feedback says:

“I’m confident enough to ask for feedback without worrying about how it impacts my perceived power.”

“I’m not cocky. I’m humble enough to want your input.”

“I’m focused on the final result, not my ego.”

“I care about my teammates’ opinions, so I want to assure we all agree on the best path forward.”

“I realize that I’m not perfect. I want to avoid needless rework.”

When I was a manager, I loved team members who had this mindset!
