Woah. I just learned that HTML file inputs can access photos, videos, and audio captured directly by the device's camera and microphone like this:
Note: This feature is supported on all major mobile browsers. But oddly, there's no desktop browser support yet.
Modern laptops have solid webcams and mics, so hopefully desktop browsers will add support soon.
