Why I taught my son HTML, JS, and CSS before Git:
I believe it’s easier to learn and appreciate something, if you’ve experienced the pain first.
I wanted him to feel the pain of working without source control. So when I showed him Git he would think “Woah, this will be handy.”
More broadly, I use this same 3 step approach in my @pluralsight courses and when speaking at conferences.
1. Present the problem. 🤦♂️
2. Experience the pain. 😬
3. Present the solution. 😀
