While working on a ticket, I'm often tempted to fix/improve unrelated code.
I've learned to open a ticket to document the issue instead. This helps me stay focused on the task at hand. And it assures the team can approve and prioritize the work.
I also find this improves quality. When I focus on one thing at a time, I'm less likely to cut corners or feel rushed to make some unrelated change.
