Time is money
Time is money.
So I buy the fastest machine I can afford.
Waiting for a beach ball / spinner literally costs money in the form of lost focus, friction, and opportunity cost.
This is why ultralight laptops make no sense to me. I’ll happily carry a 4.5 lb device instead of a 2.5 lb device. The extra 2 pounds buys me time. Today’s pro level devices consistently deliver near instant results, even with over a dozen apps running.
