It takes me 2+ hours of recording and editing to create a tight 5 min video.
-I cut pauses
-I speed up my typing
-I edit it so that I talk & type at the same time
-I remove any typos that don't aid learning

Well edited videos value the viewer's time more than the editor's time.
Other tricks I use to enhance info density:
-Use text callouts while speaking to add additional context
-Highlight the section of the page/code that's currently the focus
-Run editors full screen at a high font size to eliminate noise and help people watching on small screens
A good video can reach 1000's. So saving just 1 minute through solid editing ends up savings 1000's of people 1 minute. That's powerful.
