All too many meetings are scheduled because the scheduler is unwilling to simply email a cogent and thoughtful proposal to effected parties.

Before scheduling a meeting, remember: People can collaborate asynchronously when given a clear proposal.
Prime example: Let's have a meeting to discuss what to build in Q2. How about: "I've created a GitHub issue here with a list of ideas for Q2. Please add your ideas. We can discuss priority later."
