Speaker tip: Instead of asking "Who doesn't understand x?" ask "Who understands x?"
Why?
1. It avoids embarrassing people.
2. It enhances engagement since you're prompting a "brag".😎
3. You can ask someone who claims to know to explain it. Socratic method keeps people engaged.
I often have no idea what the speaker is saying, but am hesitant to publicly embarrass myself by raising my hand for fear of being the lone person who doesn't get it. "Who understands?" lets the speaker see who is tracking.
